Senate approves White to lead SEC

The Senate has approved Mary Jo White, a former federal prosecutor, to become the next head of the Securities and Exchange Commission. "The SEC needs a strong leader in place as it works to implement Wall Street Reform, and that is exactly what the commission is getting with Mary Jo White," said Tim Johnson, chairman of the Senate banking committee, in a statement.
