Next-generation phone charger takes 30 seconds to do its job

An Israeli company has developed a high-speed charging device that can take a smartphone from empty to full in about half a minute by drawing on developments in biological semiconductors made from naturally occurring organic compounds called peptides. StoreDot's prototype -- which was demonstrated on a Samsung Galaxy 4 -- is bigger and more expensive than a standard charger, but the company says it is working on a smaller version ahead of the device's expected 2016 commercial launch.
