Twitter goes after mainstream users with redesign

Twitter is rolling out a new look and introducing more videos and bigger photos into user feeds. Reports say that the service is also experimenting with simpler language designed for novice users. "The redesign advances part of Twitter's game plan to relate more widely beyond its 240 million monthly users to try to catch Facebook and its more than 1.2 billion base," writes Garett Sloane.
