Cartoon Network, Disney XD are getting boy crazy

Kids cable nets Cartoon Network and Disney XD, formerly Toon Disney, are adding more live-action fare to their production slates in hopes of attracting a larger audience of boys between the ages of 6 and 14, according to this report. "Animation as a genre channel seemed to be very limiting," said Rich Ross, chief of Disney Channel Worldwide. "We had an opportunity to broaden our voice to get more kids, and certainly boys, by re-engineering what Toon Disney was."
