Harris Teeter part of smart-growth plan in Tysons Corner, Va.

Harris Teeter, the first supermarket to open in Tysons Corner, Va., since the 1980s, is part of an effort to make the area a place where people want to live. "Grocery stores are a part of that," said a booster of the plan. "It's hard to live in a neighborhood and achieve a super-high walkability if you don't have a grocery store."
