Mining business keeps construction steady in Nevada town

Thriving gold mines are helping Elko, Nev., keep its unemployment rate below the national norm. They also help support the town's construction industry. One mining firm recently completed construction on new office buildings. Meanwhile, the Elko County Economic Diversification Authority last month started building a $14 million "railport" that will house six industrial tenants.
