New York governor, advocates at odds over timing for marriage bill

New York Gov. David Paterson, saying it's time for voters to find out where their representatives stand on marriage equality, is calling on the state Senate to take action on a marriage bill, even if it lacks enough votes to pass. Paterson's view, as stated in two radio interviews, runs counter to that of other marriage backers, who want to wait until it has majority support in the Senate.
