Symbian stakes out its own identity

Saying the "handcuffs are off," the Symbian Foundation has officially begun to seek ties with developers as it starts its new life as an open-source operating system backed by Nokia. But foundation members concede that they will have to overcome their ties to Nokia to establish their own brand identity.
