Velazquez urges SBA to expedite lending

In a letter to Karen Gordon Mills, the Small Business Administration's new chief, Rep. Nydia Velazquez, D-N.Y., urged immediacy in opening up the pipeline for loans. Velazquez said it had been 51 days since the president signed a small-business stimulus plan and every day that passes without the stimulus programs being implemented, more small businesses close.
