CEBS proposes guidelines on international banks' capital adequacy

The Committee of European Banking Supervisors is striving for a consistent approach to capital-adequacy requirements throughout the euro zone. This week, the regulator launched a consultation period for proposed guidelines on the capital adequacy of international banking groups. CEBS Chairman Giovanni Carosio called the guidelines "an essential step forward".
