Michigan student president pushes for gender-neutral housing

Chris Armstrong, the openly gay, newly elected student body president at the University of Michigan, says he'll work to change school policy on gender-neutral housing options. Transgender students are currently assigned housing based on their birth gender and are required to complete sexual-reassignment surgery before the school will consider them to have transitioned. Armstrong wants the school to consider the preferences of the students involved, explaining, "We're all mature adults."
