Monsanto to reduce prices of some biotech crop seeds, CEO says

Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant said the company hopes to acquire market share by lowering prices of biotech corn, cotton and soybeans. The company decided to abandon its goal of increasing its gross profit by twofold from 2007 to 2012, driven by the farmers' reluctance to pay for higher costs of seeds and competition with generic versions of its glyphosate weedkiller.
