Explaining the gender gap in the startup community

A number of factors may be responsible for the gender gap in the startup world, writes Beverly Tam, a student at the University of California, San Diego. Interviews reveal that fewer women may found high-growth startups due to biases and a lack of role models, she writes. "Acknowledging successful female entrepreneurs would help encourage a new generation of young women to pursue this field."
