Isis sets a slow but steady path toward mobile payments

Isis, the mobile-wallet system backed by several carriers, has chosen a more deliberate strategy toward launching commercial service, chief marketing officer Ryan Hughes explained in a recent interview. Even though Isis has not officially rolled out yet -- it has a pair of pilot tests planned for summer -- the company has spent most of its time building a platform that appeals to a broad base of consumers, banks, merchants, credit card companies and carriers. Hughes drew a contrast between Isis' strategy and that of the competing Google Wallet service.
