Schools in England take new approach to excluded students

Students who might otherwise be excluded from schools in England due to behavioural or other problems are enrolling in mainstream education through a new initiative. Through the programme in Cambridgeshire, money for excluded students, which would go to local authorities, instead is directed to head teachers. The head teachers then are responsible for assessing what type of alternative education students need and using the funding to provide it.
