Statement targets reduction of nosocomial infections in NICUs

Two committees of the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a joint statement highlighting the importance of good hand hygiene in preventing nosocomial infections in neonatal intensive care units. Committee members also suggested strategies for preventing central line-associated bloodstream infections as well as health care-associated pneumonia.
