Surgery can correct migraine triggers

Nerve decompression surgery often reveals structural defects that cause migraines, such as a nerve impinged by bone or soft tissue, a fibrous band around a nerve, or a nerve that goes through a hole in the bone instead of a notch, says plastic surgeon W.G. (Jay) Austen Jr. The procedure was developed 12 years ago by plastic surgeon Bahman Guyuron, and insurance companies increasingly reimburse for the procedure.
