Tenaska Energy's clean-coal projects in Ill., Texas to cost $3.5B each

Tenaska Energy's $3.5 billion Trailblazer Energy Center project in Abilene, Texas, could create between 1,500 and 2,000 construction jobs. The project is expected to be unaffected by a proposed emissions rule by the Environmental Protection Agency since it is designed to capture up to 90% of the carbon dioxide it produces. Meanwhile, Tenaska's proposed $3.5 billion clean-coal facility to be built in Taylorville, Ill., may still be a feasible project as state lawmakers have yet to decide if the project should move ahead.
