Airline industry green and getting greener

The travel industry continues to become more environmentally friendly in operations, this feature says. Airline fuel efficiency has improved by 120% since 1978 and as a result accounts for only 2% of greenhouse emissions in the U.S. "It's the equivalent of taking 22 million cars off the road each year," said Nancy Young, vice president of environmental affairs for Airlines for America.
