Company is fined $1M over filling wetlands in N.H.

A concrete company was fined almost $1 million after New Hampshire and federal officials said it filled more than a dozen acres of wetlands and illegally dumped storm water. The company can restore the wetlands as part of a deal with prosecutors to suspend $225,000 of the $700,000 fine for the fill. The fine for the stormwater dumping is $135,000, and the firm also has agreed to fund an environmental project on an impervious parking lot.
