Lew urges Europe to move forward with banking union

U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew has met with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, EU Internal Market Commissioner Michel Barnier and other leading officials to discuss the European economy, reforms and other challenges. Lew urged officials to proceed with plans to develop a banking union, and he discussed the "immense stake" the U.S. has in Europe's economic recovery.
