Labor secretary calls for workforce investment

The U.S. needs more investments in workforce-development programs in order to catch up with other countries, Labor Secretary Thomas Perez says. "We're really trying to engage with business leaders and educators to figure out what credentials we can develop that are portable and relevant," Perez said. President Barack Obama this week announced $100 million in federal grants for education and training programs.
