$30 Million Grant To Fund NYC Small Schools Effort

Given by three private foundations, the grant is to help establish 23 small high schools, each with a maximum of 400 students. Under the plan, each school would establish a theme, such as theater or music, and would employ unconventional curriculums, rather than the widely used Regents-track curriculum.
