Ringtone, game makers sell directly to consumers

A growing number of makers of mobile phone ringtones, games and entertainment are selling their wares direct to consumers through bricks-and-mortar stores and offline promotions. In 2005, this "off-portal" approach to digital content sales reportedly earned almost $1.4 billion globally, accounting for about one-third of all digital content sales.
