Scotts launches $30 million environmental campaign

Scotts Miracle-Gro Company has unveiled a $30 million campaign to convince homeowners that a lush, green lawn can be environmentally friendly. "We know homeowners are hearing conflicting messages about lawns and the environment, and now is the time for us to educate them on the benefits of lawns and water conservation," said Rich Shank, the company's chief environmental officer. At a time when 86% of Americans say they are trying to conserve water, Scotts is pointing out the environmental benefits of turfgrass, including reducing erosion and air pollution.
