Asian markets extend rally on energy, automaker shares

For the first time in three months, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 rose above the psychologically important 9,000-point mark, before dipping on weakness in financial stocks. Japan's benchmark index gained 0.5% as Asian markets continued to rally Friday. China's Shanghai Composite advanced 2.7%, South Korea's Kospi rose 1.5% and Malaysia's main index gained 2.4%. Taiwan's Taiex climbed up 2%, and Thailand's SET edged up 0.1%.
