Leaf-blower legislation sweeps across nation

Although a useful tool for landscape professionals, leaf blowers can raise the ire of communities legislating noise pollution. "Blowers operate in a frequency range that's irritating to humans," said Kris Kiser, executive vice president of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute. Some communities ban the use of leaf blowers before a certain hour, while others ban them during summer months altogether.
