Scientists discover gene that controls blood-cell formation

A team of international scientists has discovered that a gene called JunB regulates the production and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells that create all blood cell types. The finding might help in developing drugs for blood cancers and a protocol for bone marrow transplantation that could increase the chances for a cure, the researchers said.
