Small businesses hope new policies will make difference

The small-business community is anticipating how the political and economic shifts brought about by a new administration will affect them. Dan Danner, the president of a national small-business group, says the economic-stimulus funding, changes in tax codes and support for the Small Business Administration lending programs are a good start but not enough. Alan Horne, owner of Yard Elves in Northern Colorado, says it is too early to tell how President Barack Obama's policies will affect small businesses such as his, but he is optimistic and says that "there are a lot of small businesses that may benefit in the future from the seeds that are planted today."
