Construction of two nuclear reactors in S.C. creates 3,000 jobs

South Carolina Electric & Gas recently secured the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's approval to proceed with the construction of two new reactors at its V.C. Summer nuclear plant in South Carolina. The project will create 3,000 construction jobs. With pre-construction work already under way, 1,375 of those jobs openings have been filled, and the first reactor is slated for completion by 2017.
