Ochsner CEO says smoking consequences trump personal rights

This month Ochsner Health System in New Orleans marked the first anniversary of its tobacco-free workplace policy that affects more than 13,000 employees. CEO Dr. Patrick Quinlan says while he is sympathetic to the argument about personal rights, the right to smoke should not trump the health and financial issues related to tobacco usage, such as higher insurance and medical costs and lost productivity.
