Reducing carbs in diet may not benefit GDM patients

Gestational diabetes mellitus patients who followed a low-carbohydrate diet did not show better perinatal outcomes, body weight and insulin requirements than those in the control group, a study on the website of Diabetes Care revealed. The results suggest that a low-carb diet is unlikely to be a part of successful nutrition therapy in such patients, researchers said.
