Reducing carbs may not benefit gestational diabetes patients

Gestational diabetes patients who followed a low-carbohydrate diet did not show better perinatal outcomes, body weight and insulin requirements than those in a control group, a study in Diabetes Care found. The results suggest that carbohydrate levels in the diet may not be a key factor in nutrition recommendations for such patients, researchers said.
