Ala. elementary students wrap up campaign speeches before SGA elections

Third- and fourth-graders at an Alabama elementary school who are running for a spot in the school's Student Government Association gave their final campaign speeches on Thursday before students cast their votes today. The students addressed topics such as bullying, and talked about their grades and ability to lead with integrity. The school's educators say student participation in the SGA gets students interested in community service, boosts their confidence and teaches them important life lessons.
