House ag panel approves bill restricting CFTC authority

The House Agriculture Committee has approved legislation that would rein in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's authority to implement cross-border derivatives rules. The bill "ensures that the federal agency tasked with regulating the multitrillion-dollar derivatives market is working in the most efficient and effective way," said committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla. The full House will now consider the bill.
