Congress Readies To Take On Folsom Dam Debate

The proposed $219 million project to raise Sacramento, Calif.'s Folsom Dam is to move to Congress this month as debate builds over whether or not the proposal will be enough to protect the city. Rep. Bob Matsui says that the additional seven feet of flood protection will safeguard against almost any flood, but others believe that the American River needs a new dam in Auburn, 30 miles northeast of the city.
