Survey: What diet weighs heaviest on dieters' wallets?

A Forbes magazine survey of diets found the cost of the median diet worked out to be about $85.79 per week, about 50% more than the $54.44 the average American spends on food. The survey looked at diets including Dr. Atkins, Jenny Craig, Ornish, Weight Watchers and others and found that, at about $137.65 per week, Jenny Craig was the costliest, and the Subway Sandwich Diet was the least expensive, at $68.60 per week.
