Officials: Spain beaches at risk of development, erosion

Spain's beaches increasingly are at risk of disappearing as homes and hotels rapidly are built on the shoreline and sea levels rise because of coastal erosion, officials warned this week. Sea levels in Europe are expected to rise about 20 inches by the end of the century, and the country's Mediterranean and Cantabrian coastlines are most at risk.
