Ultraviolet germicide found to deactivate bird flu virus in buildings

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation can protect a building's environment from microbial contamination and deactivate the Avian H5N1 virus, also known as the bird flu virus, according to a new study. The study is the first to test UVGI, a potent germicide, on live strains of the virus.
