New York says no to LNG platform

New York Gov. David Paterson has rejected a proposal from Shell and TransCanada to build the Broadwater LNG platform, saying he wants to protect Long Island Sound. Connecticut's governor praised the decision, the latest setback for the energy industry's efforts to build a terminal off North America's eastern shores to import supplies of natural gas.
