Alexandra Levit recounts the tale of Ryan Miner, who wrote her that he now regrets a Facebook group he established as a 19-year-old college student criticizing homosexuality, a position he now calls "wrong." The online and media attention has hurt his professional career and even gotten him fired, he writes. "I am now looking to expand my career, but each time I submit a new resume, a sense of bleak fear overcomes me, wondering whether or not a company will Google my name only to toss my resume in the trash and move to the next applicant," Miner wrote.
