Parenthood influences diet and exercise, study finds

Women who became parents in their mid-20s ate almost 400 calories more than what their childless counterparts consumed per day, as well as had a higher intake of saturated fat and sugary beverages and consumed fewer green vegetables, a study in Pediatrics found. Mothers lost about 60 minutes of weekly exercise, while fathers lost 90 minutes compared with other young adults, researchers said.
