Warren scrutinizes bills aimed at altering CFPB

Republican lawmakers are striving to modify the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, including changing its structure so that a bipartisan commission runs the agency rather than a single director. Late last week, Elizabeth Warren, the White House adviser tapped to set up the CFPB, said the proposals would "eliminate the consumer agency before it's born."
