Fla. district expects meal costs to rise

A Florida school district will alter lunches next year to comply with new federal meal standards, and breakfasts will come into compliance the following year. However, officials say the changes -- which are expected to affect about 500 recipes -- will cost more. "We are (likely) going to be able to hold the lunch prices for one more year, but the reality is that there are a lot of other changes coming down," said Kevin Thornton, director of food and nutrition services. "We're not going to be able to hold them very long."
