Groups ask court to stop wind-transmission project in Oregon

Two environmental groups filed a lawsuit in federal court to stop construction of a transmission line project that would send power from Columbia Energy Partners' Echanis Wind Energy Project in Oregon to the region's grid. In their filing, the groups asked the court to vacate and remand the Bureau of Land Management's decision to grant rights of way for the North Steens Transmission Line Project because it would intrude into a protected area and spoil one of Oregon's biggest undeveloped areas.
