More enterprise IT dollars are going to the cloud

The migration to the cloud is eating up ever-larger portions of enterprise technology budgets, research shows, with hosted computing solutions accounting for more than one-third of IT spending and still growing. According to the recently released IDG Enterprise Cloud Computing Study, which polled more than 1,600 IT executives in January, roughly two-thirds of organizations plan to increase cloud spending over the next year, with privately hosted networks accounting for the bulk of new spending.
