Study examines effects of progesterone on TBI

An international study of 1,180 patients is examining how the immediate delivery of progesterone may impact recovery from traumatic brain injury. Previous studies on rats that showed faster recovery rates for pregnant females, combined with data that show younger women in general recover more quickly than men after TBI, helped prompt the study.
