Study: No long-term ill effects from radiation on wildlife

British scientists recently found that birds near Chernobyl were not negatively affected in the long term by the radiation from the nuclear disaster due to the birds' antioxidant mechanisms. In fact, since humans evacuated the area and have not returned, many wildlife populations are surging, with no apparent radiation-related problems.
