Va. district to pilot fitness, health program

Schools in Richmond, Va., will test a new "Fit For Life" program intended to increase the focus on physical fitness and health. Under the program, students will participate in wellness screenings and graduating seniors will undergo fitness testing. "We are taking up the president's and first lady's challenge to make sure the nation's public-school children graduate from high school with sound bodies and sound minds," said Richmond schools Superintendent Yvonne W. Brandon.
