Ark. wants $4M from ExxonMobil for oil spill probe, AG says

Arkansas needs $4 million from ExxonMobil to fund the state's probe of an oil pipeline spill last month involving the company, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said. "This is consistent with federal law and the approach taken by attorneys general on the Gulf Coast, who were advanced $175 million" by BP in the aftermath of the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, McDaniel said. Exxon will "respond directly" to McDaniel's office, a spokesman said.
